Fifty-goal hero James Walshaw has agreed a deal to stay with newly-promoted Farsley Celtic next season.

The Non League legend, who has arguably been the most prolific Yorkshire NL striker of the past decade, was hugely influential for Farsley.

He scored in the play-off final victory over Ossett Town and was named as the Division’s player of the year.

New Farsley manager Adam Lakeland told his club’s official website: ’We are absolutely delighted that James has put pen to paper on a deal this evening.

“The contribution that he made to this football club last season is simply unquestionable.

“To weigh in with that amount of goals is some achievement.

“He was a key player last season, and he is going to be again this coming campaign. I am really looking forward to working with him.”
