New Garforth Town goalkeeper Peter Lawrie

Pete Lawrie is set to battle with Paul Hagreen for the number one jersey at Garforth Town after keeping a clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Penistone Church on Tuesday night.

Lawrie has had a turbulent summer having initially pledged his future to Selby before moving to Pickering Town two weeks into pre-season.

He has since been unable to break into the Pickering side hence the move to the Miners to become their fourth goalkeeper of the campaign.

Hagreen was controversially sent off in the opening day Emirates FA Cup defeat to Sunderland RCA and is still suspended for one more match.

Stephen Weatherill then took his place for the Albion Sports clash, but he was on holiday when Clipstone visited on Saturday which is why Danny King was between the sticks.
