A hat-trick from Liam Radford complemented by a goal from Will Ramsay saw Armthorpe Welfare ease to a comfortable 4-0 win away at AFC Emley.

Welfare were on the front foot straight from the first whistle with Morgan Brough charging down a clearance from Emley ‘keeper Joe Stead in the second minute which ricocheted over the bar.

But a minute later Jordan Townend found space on the right of the box for Emley before firing an angled drive across the face of goal.

Welfare took the lead on eight minutes when Radford was picked out on the left wing and he out-paced his marker as he cut into the box and drilled a low shot past Stead into the far corner.

Just two minutes later Welfare doubled their lead when Will Ramsay rose to head home a Chris Gowen free-kick at the back post from six yards.

Emley ought to have pulled a goal back on 18 minutes but John Whitehead blazed over from close range following a corner.

On 40 minutes a corner was cleared by the Emley defence only as far as Radford who fired in a great dipping volley from 25 yards which looped over Stead to put Welfare 3-0 up at half time.

Ramsay saw a 20 yard shot deflected just wide on 49 minutes as Welfare resumed in the same manner after the break and Radford lashed an angled volley just over the bar on 56 minutes.

Townend had a rare effort at goal for the home side on 77 minutes but his 25 yard free-kick flew just wide and on 84 minutes Radford completed his hat-trick when substitute James Handley’s shot from just inside the box was blocked with the loose ball falling for Radford to hit a first time shot past Stead from 20 yards.

Eccleshill United came from behind to win the local derby with Campion.

After conceding early to a Tom Robinson strike, Eccleshill came back to win 3-1 through goals from Chris Lever (2) and Ben Hardy.

Matty Dalton’s last minute equaliser rescued a 2-2 draw for Yorkshire Amateur at Grimsby Borough.

Fernando Moke also scored for the Ammers.

Worsbrough Bridge lost 2-0 at Winterton Rangers.
