Nostell Miners Welfare’s Billy Mole

Have the dark clouds lifted from over Nostell Miners Welfare? There is a big chance that the sunshine is on its way after the magnificent 4-0 victory at Retford United.

The win, their best in over 18 months, shows just how far Nostell have come under Des Hazel, Mark Booth and Wayne Ball in such a short space of time.

Nostell raced into a 2-0 half-time lead as Jamie Miller and Billy Mole struck.

The Wakefield-based side upped the ante in the last 20 minutes. Miller and Nathan Smith went close before the latter added the third.

A great night was rounded off by Mole.

Early goals from Gregg Anderson and Blaine Hobson made sure Knaresborough Town saw off Shirebrook Town to record a 2-1 success and their seventh consecutive victory.

Hallam picked up their first league win of the campaign with the 2-1 victory at East Yorkshire Carnegie. Nathan Forbes and Daniel State scored.
