Costello takes charge of Swedish club

Former Garforth Town manager Adrian Costello

Former Garforth Town chief Adrian Costello has been appointed as the new manager of Swedish Division Two side Ytterhogdal IK.

Costello follows in the footsteps of former Leeds Carnegie boss Graham Potter who moved to Sweden in 2010 to take charge of Östersunds FK – a team he has now led to major success.

Ytterhogdal sit in the fourth tier of Swedish Football.

UEFA A-Licensed coach Costello briefly managed Garforth between November 2015 and May 2016, but remains a well-respected figure because he guided them through some of the choppiest on-field problems the club has ever faced.

He rebuilt the side after mass departures and managed to avert what would have been a disastrous relegation.

  1. I wish him all the very best & lots of luck on his new venture in Sweden.
Whilst with Garforth he proved to be a good communicator & motivator as well as passionate about football.
A nice man who deserves success.
