Stocksbridge president Jack Newton has passed away

Jack Newton, the much-loved president of Stocksbridge Park Steels, has passed away at the age of 94 after a short illness.

Jack, who was 94, was a former Chesterfield and Huddersfield goalkeeper. He played for Stocksbridge Works and has been a member of the club committee since the mid 1980s.

Stocksbridge will commemorate his passing in the appropriate manner at the start of a game when his family are available to attend.
