Returning hero Gary Collier scored the winner in the dying seconds for Selby Town, who underlined their promotion credentials by snatching all three points at second-placed Eccleshill United.

It was certainly feisty and entertaining top-of-the-table clash. Selby led at half-time thanks to Joe Dale’s close range finish.

That was cancelled out by Eccleshill captain Sam Bradley’s powerful header six minutes into the second half.

Selby regained the lead on the hour with Liam Flanagan netting from a scramble resulting from a free kick.

Eccleshill’s task of levelling began harder when Jonny Irving saw red for a second bookable offence.

However, that did not prevent Eccleshill equalising through Bradley with just a matter of minutes remaining.

But Selby were not to be denied and Collier proved to be the headline grabber.

  1. A superb away win, game had everything you want, two teams giving everything, 5 goals and a injury time winner, and it had somethings you don’t want, a sending off, handbags, and some of worst officiating from the men in black, but apart from that a great result for selby, the better team won on the day, and good to see a few selby supporters at the game, roll on next game #uptherobins, and well said Mr Chairman

  2. Let’s hope the town supporters turn up in vast numbers on Tuesday and away at Glasshougton on Saturday. Up the Robins from all fans in Spain
