Two early goals from Ben Cohen and Nick Black edged Knaresborough Town closer to the Division One title.

Five more victories from their remaining eight games should be more than enough to seal the crown following the 2-0 win over Rossington Main.

In the Premier Division, Garforth Town went down 4-2 at Thackley – player/manager Mike Garrod hit a first half hat-trick.

Mark Simpson scored twice for Garforth, who had goalkeeper Peter Lawrie sent off in the first half. Lee Turner also missed a penalty for Garforth.

Nicky Matthews was also on target for Thackley.

In the League Cup fourth round, Hemsworth Miners Welfare won 4-1 at Yorkshire Amateur.

Joel Sutton and Jake Day got hat-tricks in Bridlington Town’s 6-1 East Riding Senior Cup semi-final win over Dunnington.
