Rampant Ossett Albion celebrated five consecutive victories after scoring two late goals to down Skelmersdale United.

The first half belonged to Skelmersdale who looked the more likely to score. After 15 minutes they hit the bar and soon after Albion goalkeeper Neil Bennett pushed another shot onto the post and away. Bennett made a great save with his legs to keep Albion in the game just before the interval when a Skelmersdale player was through one-on-one.

The second half was totally different with Albion beginning to play better football. Joe Wilkinson made a great run down the right and crossed for Scott Metcalfe to fire the ball into the net just 10 minutes after the restart.

Marcus Day came on from the bench and within minutes had extended Albion’s lead when he finished from a cross by Aidan Chippendale.

Adam Priestley made it 3 from the penalty spot after he had been brought down.

In the dying minutes Skelmersdale got a consolation goal from James Barrigian but they will regret not capitalising on their first-half superiority.
