Rollinson’s set for re-arranged Cup Final

All the t-shirts and buckets are ready for ‘Show Your Support for Luce’ day. Good weather is all what is required now.

The re-arranged fundraiser (for Leukaemia UK) /support day will take place next Wednesday when Worsbrough Bridge take on Glasshoughton Welfare at Park Road.

Originally meant to be played in mid-February, the match is being used to support Lucille Rollinson, the mother of Worsbrough midfielder Calan and Glasshoughton winger Connor.

Lucille was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) last October and the family also want to use the fixture to raise awareness of AML symptoms.

Connor said: “As a family we were overwhelmed by the support we received after the original article was published. We also taken aback by how many people were going to attend the game in February, had it gone ahead.

“At least we have a second chance to hold the support day. My mum has been through an awful lot and I know just how much good the game will do for her.”

Every player from both sides will wear ‘Show Your Support for Luce’ t-shirts in their respective warm-ups. There will also be collection buckets around the ground.

Despite the original game not going ahead, the ‘Show Your Support for Luce’ JustGiving page raised £295. You can donate via this LINK.
