More points in the bag for Welfare

Ryan Ferguson scored Glasshoughton’s winner

Ryan Ferguson’s early second half goal has put play-offs chasing Glasshoughton Welfare into a great position with two games to go.

Selby Town and Hallam can still overtake Glasshoughton to claim sixth spot, but both teams would need to win basically all their games-in-hand. Glasshoughton only have lowly Retford United and Worsbrough Bridge to play and six more points would make the task really hard for Selby and Hallam.

Glasshoughton overcame Swallownest to record a 1-0 win. Ferguson struck one minute into the second half and Welfare worked like trojans to hold on.

The final whistle was also greeted with the slightly good news that Hallam could only draw 1-1 with Shirebrook Town. Jake Currie scored a late equaliser for Hallam.

Ash Flynn hit another hat-trick as Yorkshire Amateur smashed Ollerton Town 6-1. Fernando Moke (2) and Brice Tiani also scored.
