Frickley Athletic have made a real statement of intent with the signing of York City forward James Gray.

The capture is the latest in a long list of good news for Frickley fans this week.

Gray, 25, is a striker who has played 76 games in the football league with Accrington Stanley and Northampton and representing several clubs in the National League Premier and North divisions, including Wrexham, Southport, Torquay United as well as a short spell in Northern Ireland with Glenavon. He has also represented Northern Ireland at U16, U17, U19 and U21 levels.

Spencer Fearn said: “This an another excellent signing for our club, we are delighted that James is joining us at Frickley Athletic. He is a great character with a terrific work ethic as well as being an excellent player. He will certainly add more quality to our team and we are all looking forward to welcoming him to the club when pre-season starts in June.”
