Garforth retain key quartet, including Simpson

Garforth’s all-time goal-scorer Mark Simpson is staying, along with captain marvel James Beaston (pictured right), Alex Low and goalkeeper Toby Wells.

Two of Garforth Town’s greatest ever strikers will form a dangerous partnership this season as Mark Simpson has followed Adam Priestley in committing to the club.

Simpson, Garforth’s all-time record goal-scorer, is one of four influential players from last season who have so far confirmed that their future lies at the Bannister Prentice Community Stadium.

Captain marvel James Beaston, star goalkeeper Toby Wells and defender Alex Low are the other three players.

Beaston, one of Garforth’s most popular captains ever, has been with the club ever since Rob Hunter’s first campaign in 2016.

Wells, the former Pickering Town stopper, was outstanding last season and was arguably the best goalkeeper in the league. He won nearly every award at the club’s presentation night.

The sight of Priestley and Simpson upfront will certainly wet the appetites of Garforth fans who are still celebrating the return of the Gibraltar International.

The Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side also signed Adam Porritt, Dan Coupland and Danny Buttle on Saturday.
