Nostell Miners Welfare found their shooting boots on during their Toolstation NCEL Division One opening day 4-2 win over Ollerton Town at Crofton Community Centre.

New signing Calum Ward got off the mark in style with an eighth minute with a pile-driver into the top corner. Midfielder Ben Teasdale then added the second before Ollerton pulled one back from the penalty spot.

On the half-hour mark, Richard Collier’s corner was headed home by former Barnsley defender Jack Cowgill.

Ollerton gave themselves hope with an 85th minute goal, but youngster Danny Edwards sealed Nostell’s victory soon after.

Former Derby County midfielder Adam Bolder’s spectacular strike rescued a point for North Ferriby in the 1-1 draw with Hallam.

Will Waith had given Hallam, who had Jack McCarthy sent off, a first half lead.

Jonathan Fusco’s long range thunderbolt gave Andy Dawson’s Parkgate a 1-0 win over Armthorpe Welfare.

Debutant Dan Walker pounced on a rebound to score a late equaliser for Selby Town in the 1-1 draw with Skegness Town.

Goals from Jake Squires, Oliver Grady and Matthew Morton saw through Swallownest to a 3-2 win at Hall Road Rangers. Tom Bennett and Ryan Williams got Hall Road’s goals.

Ash Emmett got Worsbrough Bridge’s goal in their 6-1 loss at Dronfield Town.

Glasshoughton Welfare lost 3-0 at Winterton Rangers, while East Hull led twice through Josh Ward at Brigg Town, but were beaten 6-2.

Rossington Main were defeated 1-0 at home to Retford FC.
