Ben Grech-Brooksbank was the hero for Thackley who overturned an early deficit to beat Carlisle City 3-2 in the FA Vase tie at Dennyfield.

Carlisle broke clear and Jordan Palmer scored to place Carlisle in front and Paddy McGuire’s men had to wait until the stroke of half-time to hit back.

A tremendous free kick from defender Kieran Thompson levelled matter.

Grech-Brooksbank then struck twice in quick-succession after half-time wth two low drives.

Jordan Irving set up a nervy ending which saw Carlisle hit the crossbar and have another chance cleared off-the-line before the final whistle was finally blown.

Ash Flynn’s late winner made sure Yorkshire Amateur progressed with a 1-0 win over Alnwick Town.

The tie was played at Farsley Celtic due to pitch problems at Bracken Edge.

Armthorpe Welfare lost 3-0 at Brigg Town.

Parkgate were beaten 3-2 at home by Chadderton. Simon Harrison and Jonathan Fusco got Parkgate’s goals.
