Former Nostell centre-back Collins joins Bridge

New Worsbrough Bridge defender Dan Collins

Former Nostell Miners Welfare centre-back Dan Collins has joined Worsbrough Bridge.

Collins memorably scored the winning goal in Nostell’s 2-1 victory over Retford United in December 2017 – a game mainly remembered for being the first under Jason Dodsworth and Simon Houghton and the start of their revolution at Crofton Community Centre.

It was a great day for Nostell as it lifted the dark clouds and began a magical chapter in the club’s history. Collins moved on later that campaign.

The defender has also played for Goole, along with Sherburn White Rose in the West Yorkshire League.

He arrives ahead of Worsbrough’s home game with high-flying Skegness Town on Saturday.
