Walton hits 100 as Super ‘Sedge go second

Liversedge striker Joe Walton has now scored 100 goals for the club

Joe Walton hit his 100th goal for Liversedge during the dramatic 2-1 win over Silsden which fired them into second place.

The striker has been with Jonathan Rimmington since the beginning of the Sedge manager’s fine reign and has been consistently their star man.

It took just four minutes for him to hit the landmark.

Laurence Surhaindo hit back for Silsden and a draw was on the cards until heroic captain Tom Jackson struck to win it at the death for ‘Sedge.

Handsworth came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Albion Sports in dramatic fashion.

Albion had led through Roy Fogarty and Luke Aldrich until the 73rd minute when Leon Osborne pulled a goal back for Handsworth.

Leon Howarth scored a penalty to level it in the 87th minute and Osborne won it for Handsworth in the dying seconds.
