Greening and Pappril set up Selby tie

Goals from Fraser Papprill and Josh Greening ensured Bridlington Town booked their place in the FA Vase second round.

Bridlington won 2-1 at Penistone Church in the all NCEL tie and Brett Agnew’s men will now face Selby Town away from home on November 2nd.

Elliott Firth’s goal for Church on the hour failed to spark a comeback from Ian Richards’ men.

The draw was made on Monday lunchtime and Yorkshire Amateur have got a home tie with Bottesford Town.

In terms of clubs going out, Knaresborough Town were edged out 3-2 after extra-time in the home clash with Stockton Town.

Andy Cooper and Will Lenehan’s goals were not enough.

Glasshoughton Welfare came desperately close to beating Maine Road having led 2-0 through Nathan Perks until the final ten minutes when two late goals forced extra-time.

In the end Glasshoughton lost 4-2 after the extra 30 minutes.

Injury-ravaged Nostell Miners Welfare lost 2-0 to Wythenshawe Town.

Hemsworth Miners Welfare were beaten 4-0 at Grimsby Borough.
