Jack Owen scored a world class free kick for Nostell

Outstanding Nostell Miners Welfare bounced back in style to beat title favourites Skegness Town 4-2 at Crofton Community Centre.

Jason Dodsworth and Simon Houghton’s men had to recover from a poor start as a Liam Parker put the Toolstation NCEL Division One leaders ahead in the ninth minute.

But Calum Ward equalised and after the break, Nostell put their foot and accelerated to victory.

Rhys Meynell set the victory up with his penalty on the hour. Luke McCrum, making his full debut, headed home Richard Collier’s corner for the third.

Jack Owen’s world class free kick sealed it late-on. 

Gary King would reduce the deficit to 4-2, but it was far too late for Skegness.

The result allowed second placed Campion to close the gap on Skegness to three points.

Campion smashed Hallam 5-2 in Bradford, with Mohammad Qasim getting a hat-trick. Jason Carney and Danny Facey were also on the score-sheet.

Worsbrough Bridge lost 2-1 at Swallownest. Jack Burton scored with nine minutes to go to give Worsbrough late hope.

Alfie Smith and Nathan Morritt struck for Swallownest.
