Walker named new Nostell boss

New Nostell Miners Welfare manager Ian Walker

Under 21s boss Ian Walker is the new manager of Nostell Miners Welfare.

Walker’s elevation to the top throne concludes the process to find the replacement for joint managers Jason Dodsworth and Simon Houghton who left Crofton Community Centre three weeks ago.

The former Robin Hood manager Walker has been running Nostell’s centre of excellence for a few years and has been very successful with the club’s under 19s and 21s.

A number of his players, including star striker Danny Edwards, have already played for the first team and it is expected that Nostell are heading down a path of blooding their crop of young and talented players in the Toolstation NCEL.

The club’s team structure is also set to change as a reserve team is set to be entered into the Yorkshire Amateur League.
