Striker Antony Brown and midfielder Jake Thompson have joined Silsden.

Brown is best known for his spells with Emley and Eccleshill United. With Eccleshill, he was a key part of Sean Regan’s 2018 promotion-winning side. He even scored in the play-off final victory over Grimsby Borough.

Young Thompson is also a former Eccleshill player, but he spent last season with Liversedge. He came through the youth ranks at Huddersfield Town.

Silsden manager Danny Forrest has gained committals from the majority of last season’s squad.

That list includes goalkeepers Ben Higginson, Alfie Darke and defenders Josh Kaine, Dan Illingworth, Mark Everingham, Connor Thompson and Myles Foley.

Midfielders Arley Barnes, Joe Mitchell, Liam Hudson, Josh Mckiernon, Mark Trueman and Kyle Hancock are remaining.

In attack, Forrest will have many options. Stalwart Chris Wademan is staying, along with Khurram Shazad, Matthias Britton, Luke Hudson, Will Storrie, Robbie Fox, Luke Brooksbank and Danny Riley.

  1. Matty Britton impressed me playing for the Celts in his few Blue Army opportunities. Felt he wasnt given enough of a chance.
