Goole AFC have made a marquee signing as former Penistone Church striker Nathan Keightley has joined them.
Keightley did sign for Ossett United in June, but has now gone back to the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division and gone to Goole.
It is quite a coup for Lutel James and Les Nelson as Keightley, whose breakthrough year was his season with Glasshoughton in 2016/17, has been one of the leading forwards in the Premier Division for several seasons.
Nelson told Goole’s website: “Nathan is a great acquisition for us. He’s got pace to burn and is guaranteed to get goals at this level as he has already proven for the last several years.
“I’ve known Nathan for a quite a few years and I can’t believe how young he still actually is. I’ve sat down with Nathan and looked at what he’s wanting from his football and how we can help advance him further.
“Nathan has had some crazy offers put his way and has attracted the attention of clubs further up the pyramid and I’m actually quite gobsmacked some of the money mentioned but Nathan has always been about football and that’s shown with his commitment to us.”
