Super-sub Payne fires Albion through

Sanchez Payne was Albion Sports’ hero

Super-sub Sanchez Payne made a spectacular and heroic entrance for new-looks Albion Sports as he scored the late winner at Campion to send his side into the FA Cup Preliminary Round.

Ex-Garforth Town midfielder Payne converted from a cross at the second attempt to ensure Albion defeated their local neighbours by the solitary goal.

New Campion striker Sean Hunter did have the chance to send the tie to penalties with the last kick of the game as Lee Ashforth and James Bicknell’s men were awarded a spot kick. However, Hunter put the penalty over the crossbar.

Albion, now managed by Pav Singh and Ishy Hussein, will face Runcorn Linnets in the next round.

Yorkshire Amateur lost 5-3 on penalties at Crook Town after a 1-1 stalemate. Roy Fogarty got the Ammers’ goal.

A last minute goal broke Hall Road Rangers’ hearts as Leon Sewell succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at Bishop Auckland.
