Waud nets hat-trick as Goole win big in FA Vase

Goole AFC hat-trick hero Reggie Waud

Reggie Waud got a hat-trick as new-look Goole AFC enjoyed an almost perfect afternoon with their 7-3 victory at Cheadle Heath Nomads.

Lutel James and Les Nelson’s Goole fell behind twice in the first half, but Nathan Keightley and Waud made sure it was level at the break.

Goole then just pushed on and blew their hosts away. Waud completed his treble by the hour mark and Keightley, Reece Fennell and Jaydan Sandhu further punished Cheadle, whose third goal came in the last minute.

Hall Road Rangers lost 4-2 at home to a strong Barnton – Sam Robinson and Richard Medcalf hit the target for Leon Sewell’s side.

Penistone Church needed a 5-4 win on penalties after the 2-2 draw with Prestwich Heys which had seen Andy Ring put Church in front before an own goal later put them back ahead.

Danny Buttle’s penalty and Danny Emerton’s first half goal safely guided North Ferriby into the next round during their 2-0 win at the expense of St Helens Town.

Knaresborough Town lost 1-0 at AFC Blackpool, while Albion Sports were beaten by the same score-line at Crook Town.
