Paul Quinn’s Tadcaster Albion stormed into the second qualifying round of the FA Cup after dismantling Litherland REMYCA in the 7-2 victory.

Bailey Thompson and Ofgoebu Ifeanju both got doubles, with Corey Roper, Junayd Pandor and Jack Crook chipping in with singles.

Thompson’s eighth-minute header broke the deadlock before Litherland equalised. Thompson scored again and Litherland cancelled them him out again so it wasn’t until Ifeanju’s first goal that Tad were ablaze and unable to be put out.

There was disappointment for Andy Monkhouse’s Pontefract Collieries who lost 6-2 at giants FC United of Manchester. Nathan Modest and Dan Keane restored some respectability to the score-line in the second half.

Frickley Athletic lost 1-0 to Marine, while Scarborough Athletic were beaten 2-0 by Ashton United.
