Sean Hunter’s hat-trick against his old club helped Campion spoil Dan Thirkell’s Harrogate Railway homecoming as the league leaders incredibly won 7-1 at Station View.

The emphatic score-line firmly under-lines Campion’s promotion credentials.

Thirkell’s day actually began in fairytale fashion as he smashed home a second minute penalty for Railway.

But that’s the best it got for Railway. Jay Carney smashed from outside the box for the equaliser before Aidan Kirby placed the visitors ahead from the penalty spot.

Further goals from Carney and Kirby put Campion 4-1 in front at half-time.

Kirby set Hunter up for his first straight after the break as the visitors continued to turn the screw.

Aidan Day supplied Hunter with a simple tap-in for the sixth and the striker almost immediately completed his treble.

Emley remain on Campion’s tail and Richard Tracey’s side are only one point behind them following the 4-2 victory at Worsbrough Bridge.

Luke Forgione’s new-look Worsbrough took the front-foot as Luke Francis put them ahead after two minutes. Ex-Worsbrough man Kane Reece equalised on the stroke of half-time.

Two quick-fire goals on the hour put Emley in control. Kyle Willis converted Alex Metcalfe’s cross before Jimmy Eyles fired a low and hard shot into the net for the third.

Lewis O’Connor’s header gave Worsbrough hope, but a free kick from Willis sealed it for Emley.
