Toolstation NCEL Premier Division Round-Up

Thackley hero Ryan Basi

Ryan Basi’s goal from a mass scramble grabbed all three points for Thackley who beat Eccleshill United 1-0 in the Boxing Day derby at Dennyfield.

Basi netted from just yards out in the 70th minute after Eccleshill failed to clear their lines from corner.

That was enough to record a first league win in six matches.

Liam Hudson was the hero as Silsden heroically drew 2-2 at AFC Mansfield.

Danny Forrest’s men faced a huge challenge – not just against one of the league’s top sides, but also logistically having to travel so far on Boxing Day.

Silsden fell behind twice but Hudson was there each time to ensure they got a point for their efforts.

Maltby Main ran out comfortable 5-2 winners at Bottesford Town.

Louis Axcell’s men were 5-0 up after just 46 minutes – Steven McDonnell (2), Jonathan Hill, Bailey Hobson and Jamie Austin scored.

Bridlington Town are second in the table following their 4-1 win at Goole AFC.

Thomas Waudby (2), Danny Earl and Billy Logan got the goals for Brett Agnew’s side.

A Benn Lewis own goal brought Goole back into it at 2-1 at one stage.
