Albion boss Singh becomes ‘Sedge number two

New Liversedge assistant manager Pav Singh

Albion Sports joint boss Pav Singh has become Jonathan Rimmington’s assistant manager and head of coaching at Liversedge.

Singh replaces former Eccleshill United chief Sean Regan who quit last month.

The highly-qualified and respected coach was jointly in charge of Albion with Ishy Hussain. The pair took on the role in the summer and performed miracles as they enjoyed a really good start to the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division despite inheriting no players when they took on the job.

Back in the day, Singh was a leading striker on the Bradford Non League scene and was a major figure in Albion’s glory-laden Sunday League days which saw them reach two National FA finals in the 2000s. He also played for ‘Sedge during the Eugene Lacy era.

After moving into coaching, he assisted the legendary Kulwinder Sandhu at Albion for many years during their rise from amateur Saturday football to the NCEL Premier Division.

Singh told ‘Sedge’s official website: “It’s has been a difficult decision with Albion Sports being part of my identity and I always gave my all to the club, it’s in a good place now than it’s ever been. The opportunity to progress at Liversedge was too good to turn down, the club has a clear vision and strategy that excites me.

“They have real intent and this will bring out the best in me and others. The things in place at this club and where it can go is frightening and I hope to add value and be part of a big project that is moving forward quickly.”

‘Sedge have also recruited Mark Duffy who will manage an under 23s team next season.

Duffy worked for Bolton Wanderers in their academy for over 10 years, before later scouting for the academy and first team.

He also previously successfully managed Ovenden West Riding to winning the West Riding County Cup.

Duffy currently runs his own business coaching football in the Calderdale area.
