Houghton search for new manager

Houghton Main are searching for a new manager after the departure of Jimmy Whitehead.

Whoever takes on the role will be the club’s third manager since last summer.

Luke Forgione was in charge for pre-season and their opening two games of the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League Premier Division season before the “dream” opportunity of managing Worsbrough Bridge came up.

Ex-Bridge under 21s boss Whitehead replaced him and took charge of three matches before the second and third lockdown brought the league campaign to a premature close.

His assistants Joe Bedford and Dean Shirt have also left the Barnsley-based club.

Those interested in the post are asked to contact secretary Carl Brennan. His email address is carlbrennan1962@gmail.com.
