Pontefract Collieries left-back Ben Gordon

Former Chelsea reserves left-back Ben Gordon has decided to stay at Pontefract Collieries under new manager Craig Rouse.

Gordon joins Scott Smith and Jack Lazenby on the list of players from the Andy Monkhouse era who are staying with the Colls.

Gordon originally started his career in the Leeds United academy before moving to Chelsea in 2007 during the period they also took Michael Woods and Tom Taiwo from Thorp Arch and had to pay significant compensation.

After leaving Chelsea, Gordon played in the Football League 50 times across a stint with Colchester United and loan spells with Yeovil Town, Peterborough United, Tranmere Rovers and Birmingham City.

He also won the Scottish League Cup when Kilmarnock beat Celtic in 2012 at Hampden Park.

He then dropped into Non League Football and has played for Chester, Bradford (Park Avenue), Woking, Boston United, Shaw Lane, Gainsborough Trinity and Matlock Town.
