Ilkley promoted to the North West Counties

Ilkley Town have finally achieved their long-term dream after promotion to the North West Counties League was confirmed.

Simon Armstrong’s West Yorkshire League side have been trying for several years to make the move into Non League Football.

They thought last year was going to be their year until the pandemic put pay to their hopes.

Ilkley will enter the Division One North and take on the likes of Campion, Golcar United and Steeton.

Ilkley have been ‘oven ready’ for promotion for sometime having developed their ground – a 3G pitch venue – to Step 6 and above standard.
