Griffin stands down as Ecclesfield boss

Matt Griffin has stepped down as Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915’s manager

Matt Griffin has stood down as Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915 manager after three years in charge.

Griffin leaves the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League club with a huge debt of gratitude as turned them completely around.

In his first season he, and his assistants Jon and Matt Wragg, led Red Rose to promotion out of Division One.

They then established them as a strong Premier Division during the two aborted campaigns.

His final act as manager was guiding Red Rose to the League Cup semi-finals – a run which included the unforgettable quarter-final victory at Wombwell Main.
