Hat-trick hero Rollinson is top of the pops for Dodworth

Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League Midweek Round-Up

Hat-trick hero Calan Rollinson flexed his muscles in Dodworth Miners Welfare’s demolition of Hepworth United

Calan Rollinson laid claim to be Danny Barlow’s successor as Dodworth Miners Welfare’s main marksman as he hit a sublime hat-trick in the 5-0 demolition of Hepworth United in their opening fixture.

In a league where you can get punished, the red hot striker, whose career has been transformed for the better by a strict fitness and diet plan, took home the match-ball after scoring all his goals in the second half.

The treble was also of family significance as his father Craig, a one-time prolific goal-scorer, once scored a double hat-trick in an opening day fixture for Dodworth years ago.

Returning local lad Ross Weatherall showed that he is a decent player with his first half wonder goal – which has gone down as one of the greatest goals seen at Dodworth.

Weatherall smashed an unbelievable first time volley into the net from around 30 yards.

Jack Owen also scored for Dodworth in the second stanza.

Jack Appleyard has scored Jubilee Sports

Reigning champions North Gawber were held to a 1-1 draw by old friends Jubilee Sports who were helped by Swallownest top goal-scorer Jack Appleyard and Nana Nyarko who was man of the match for Handsworth in their FA Cup victory over Coventry United on Saturday.

Appleyard got Jubilee’s goal while Matt Blakey scored for Gawber.

Harry Hurst scored twice for Ecclesfield

Harry Hurst’s two goals made sure Jon Wragg’s Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915 drew 2-2 with High Green Villa.

The game was marred by three red cards – one for Ecclesfield and two for High Green.

Jimmy Middleton netted the only goal of the game as Stocksbridge Park Steels Reserves secured their first win of the campaign by beating local Oughtibridge at Bracken Moor.

Danny Barlow scored twice on his debut for Swinton
Swinton star Enzo Guarini

Barlow marked his Swinton debut with a double in the 4-2 win at Houghton Main.

Enzo Guarini also got a double for the title hopefuls.

Billy Smith scored both goals for Houghton.
