Marcus Day has returned to Harrogate Railway

Attacker Marcus Day has rejoined Harrogate Railway after a few years away after leaving North West Counties side Campion.

Former Harrogate Town youngster Day arrives in time for the trip to Ollerton Town on Saturday.

Railway are hoping to end a run of two consecutive defeats.

Day previously played for Railway during the Lee Ashforth era in 2016.

The former Belper Town and Ossett Town forward left Campion last week.

Mick O’Connell said: “We are delighted to finally get this deal over the line, he’s a player that has been on our radar for a while now.

“He’s everything you want in a striker, quick, strong and a great finisher. His link up play is also something to look out for.

“Marcus has a great pedigree and has played a lot higher, we are looking to get him back to where he was before his injury.

“He fits what we are looking for and will add strength at the top end, where we have been lacking. He will fit right in.”
