Wakefield hope to break 500 barrier in October

Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League Premier Division 

Wakefield AFC are hoping to break the 500 people barrier when they host Penistone Church Reserves on a Friday night in mid-October.

Wakefield will take on Scott Briggs and John Whitehead’s Penistone on Friday 15th October at the Millennium Stadium, the home of Rugby League side Featherstone Rovers.

The ambitious club want to break their current record league attendance of 305.

The match will certainly serve as a terrific advertisement for Wakefield and also the County Senior league as no other Non League games are scheduled for that night.

Up to press, both clubs have enjoyed a fantastic start to their campaigns. 

Penistone have won three out of three under their new management.

Adam Lockwood’s Wakefield have won both their opening two fixtures by big score-lines against High Green Villa and then Houghton Main.
