Tadcaster give their all but title contenders take points

NPL Division One East

Tadcaster Albion 0-1 Marske United

Tadcaster Albion caretaker manager Andy Monkhouse

Tadcaster Albion gave absolutely everything against title contenders Marske United but a second half goal was the difference in the Friday night fixture.

In what could be Andy Monkhouse’s one and only game in caretaker charge of Tadcaster, his troops frustrated the high-flyers and even carved out a few chances of their own.

Eddie Church went close twice in the first half, as did Donald Chimalilo.

Tad goalkeeper Harrison Davison-Hale tipped over a goal-bound long range free kick.

The difference was Matthew Tymon’s hour mark goal after hesitancy at the back from Tadcaster.

The game then opened up.

Former York City striker Adam Boyes nearly added the second before Church headed wide at the other end.

Marko Basic missed their best chance as he broke through but fired wide.

Despite a late push, it wasn’t to be for Tadcaster.

The Team
