Pontefract Collieries won a home game for the first time this season after second half goals edged them to a 2-0 win over Bridlington Town.

The victory was Ponte’s first in the league since mid-August and also their first win on home soil in a competitive fixture since before the pandemic.

Two well-worked goal from Vaughan Redford and Ben Gordon midway through the second half was the difference for the Colls.

The three points means Ponte go into one of the biggest games in their history full of confidence.

Ponte host Handsworth on Saturday in the FA Cup third qualifying round, hoping to move within one win of the prestigious first round.

Aaron Haswell secured a deserved point for Ossett United in the 1-1 draw at Worksop Town.

Worksop took the lead on the hour mark through Steven McDonnell’s header.

The lead lasted nine minutes as Haswell hit a 30 yard screamer to equalise.
