Eccleshill’s Talent Ndlovu

Eccleshill United end the year in top spot after Talent Ndlovu’s penalty earned them a dramatic 3-2 win at local rivals Albion Sports.

Lee Elam’s side were trailing 2-1 with 13 minutes left as Mohammed Qasim and Robbie Fox had placed Albion ahead after cancelling Sumailli Cissa’s opener.

Emmerson Cox equalised and then two minutes later Ndlovu scored a penalty.

Emley’s goal-less draw with Athersley Rec was fairly bonkers as four players were sent off.

Athersley finished up with eight men as three of their men were shown red cards.

Jimmy Pursell was the first player to leave early, the Rec men walking on the hour mark after a fracas.

Further drama followed towards the end when Joe Jagger was fouled by Liam O’Brian.

Jagger threw the ball at O’Brian who responded by kicking out.

The pair saw red and Rec’s Collins Oguwuike was picked out from the mass of bodies who charged and was sent off as well to leave Athersley with eight men.

Somehow with the numerous disadvantage they held on for a point.
