New attacker Ify Ofoegbu marked his debut with the winner as Jas Colliver enjoyed a dream start as the new Ossett United manager.

Colliver certainly has a knack with new signings as for the second consecutive game, a debutant has hit the winner in the 1-0 defeat of Brighouse Town at Ingfield.

On loan Bradford City striker Charlie Wood was the hero at Tadcaster Albion and Ofoegbu, signed from Grantham Town on Thursday, introduced himself with a spectacular strike.

In the 35th minute, captain James Walshaw flicked the ball over a Brighouse defender and Ofoegbu latched onto it and smashed it into the top corner.

That was all Ossett needed in front of almost 800 people.

Dave Frecklington and Frickley Athletic are enduring an embattled period

Frickley Athletic’s woes continue following the 1-0 defeat to Worksop Town at Westfield Lane.

Dave Frecklington’s threadbare side performed admirably again but were undone by former Harrogate Town striker Liam Hardy’s seventh minute goal.

Frickley put Worksop under pressure in the second half but were unable to score.
