Poor first half costs Avenue

Bradford (Park Avenue) 2-4 Gateshead

Bradford (Park Avenue)

A bad first half ultimately condemned Bradford (Park Avenue) to their defeat to high-flying Gateshead.

Former Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson’s side raced out of the blocks and seemingly had the game sown up by half-time.

Just four minutes had gone when Paul Blackett fired Gateshead ahead.

Adam Campbell and Blackett stretched the lead to three by half-time.

The half-time introduction of Brad Dockerty breathed new life into Avenue.

The attacker scored within two minutes from Luke Rawson’s pass.

Avenue were then suddenly back in it as Frankie Maguire caught Gateshead’s goalkeeper out.

However, it was not to be for Mark Bower’s side as Scott Cedwyn added Gateshead’s fourth.

The Team
