Loan ranger Cameron Wilson endeared himself to Scarborough Athletic fans by scoring the deciding goal in the 2-1 win over title contenders Buxton.

The impressive victory keeps Scarborough on course for a push for place in the play-offs.

Bailey Gooda headed home the opener in the seventh minute from a corner.

The scores were level at half-time as Warren Clarke equalised for Buxton.

Wilson, signed on loan from Scunthorpe United last week, produced his moment of magic on the hour.

After receiving a pass from Ash Jackson, the youngster made easy meat of two defenders before smashing the ball into the top left corner.

North Riding Senior Cup 

Whitby Town dispatched York City in a 4-1 win to move into the quarter-finals.

Two late goals finished the job for Whitby.

An own goal from Jonny Haase put Whitby in front in the eighth minute.

Former Frickley Athletic striker Jacob Hazel doubled the lead on the hour.

Mackenzie Heaney reduced the deficit but Coleby Shepherd and Priestley Keithley ensured Whitby progressed.
