NPL Division One East
Key striker Danny Earl scored right at the start and near the end to guide resurgent Bridlington Town to a big 2-0 win over Pontefract Collieries.
Brid are currently heading towards mid-table after leapfrogging Ponte thanks to their latest victory.
Brett Agnew’s side have now won four, drawn one and lost one of their last six games.
One blow for Brid was in-form Nathan Hotte’s red card in the last minute.
Leaders Liversedge maintained their six point lead at the top as two goals either side of half-time earned them their 2-0 success against Hebburn Town.
Gavin Allott hit the opener and wonder-kid Lewis Whitham, who was also man of the match, added the second straight after half-time.
There was a first NPL goal for Mark Ferguson but struggling Tadcaster Albion went down 3-2 at title-chasing North East giants Marske United.
Tad actually stunned their hosts as Eddie Church fired them ahead.
But Marske hit back strongly and former York City striker Adam Boyes scored two of their goals.
Ferguson’s goal gave Tad hope in the last 20 minutes.
The honeymoon is over for Ossett United manager Jas Colliver who endured his first nightmare afternoon since taking over at Ingfield.
Ossett lost 7-1 at promotion-chasing Cleethorpes Town – although two of the goals were scored in the final few minutes.
The scores were 1-1 after 35 minutes as Aaron Haswell had equalised for Ossett but things fell apart from that.
