FC Halifax Town needed a penalty shootout for the second consecutive round to get through to the fifth round.

Alfreton didn’t mess about and they quickly equalised.

A free kick ended up in the six-yard box and Connor Branson eventually scored for the home side.

The shootout could have gone either way as only five penalties out of 12 were converted.

Martin Woods, Niall Maher, Waters missed for ‘Fax but Matty Warburton, Jordan Slew and Senior successfully converted.

Pete Wild’s men will find out their next opponents on Monday afternoon.

Clayton Donaldson’s first half goal in the 1-0 win over Slough Town earned York City progression into the next round.

The tie is yet to be rearranged.
