Nash Connolly is back at Hemsworth Miners Welfare

The great escape is up and running for Hemsworth Miners Welfare after the superb 3-0 destruction of Winterton Rangers in Fitzwilliam.

Games are slipping away for Hemsworth but this massive win – only their third of the campaign – has put them two points behind third-bottom Albion Sports.

Hemsworth raced out of the blocks by scoring in the fifth minute through one of their recently returned legends Nash Connolly.

Two very quick-fire goals just before the hour mark sealed the vital win.

Young midfielder Sam Tingle, the ex-Pontefract Collieries man, and Seon Ripley hit the target.

The battle for survival continues on Friday night when they travel to Garforth Town.

Johnathan Williams scored two penalties for Maltby

Two very late penalties from Johnathan Williams secured Maltby Main a 4-2 win at Emley AFC.

Reggie Waud and Connor Cutts twice gave Maltby a first half lead.

Former Mossley striker Mike Fish equalised the first time on his Emley debut after signing from Golcar United.

Alex Metcalfe appeared to have rescued a point late-on until the two spot kicks.

Goole AFC striker Luke Williams

Goole AFC were beaten 5-1 by leaders Grimsby Borough.

Luke Williams scored a late consolation for Goole.

Thackley were 1-0 up at Athersley Rec when the game was abandoned due to fog.

Ben Grech-Brooksbank put Thackley ahead after two minutes.

The game comes at a cost for the Rec as Josh Berry was sent off and it is likely he will still have to serve a suspension.
