Record crowd of 1,557 watch Liversedge hit Ossett for six

NPL Division One East

Liversedge 6-0 Ossett United

Liversedge star Lewis Whitham

Unstoppable Liversedge enjoyed one of their greatest nights as a club record of 1,557 people watched them disembowel Ossett United who suffered a six-goal defeat for the second game running.

The league leaders won 5-0 at Ingfield back in October but they went one better on this night to remember.

The nightmare evening for Ossett began in the fourth minute when Joe Walton headed past Mat Zaniewski.

‘Sedge dominated the first half but were only able to score one more and that was through Gavin Allott who was presented with a simple tap-in.

Liversedge then ruthlessly finished their visitors after the break.

Nicky Walker added the third before Jack Hardacre scored after great work from Lewis Whitham.

The ex-Stocksbridge Park Steels star paved the way for the fifth which was scored by Ben Atkinson.

After two assists, Whitham got himself on the score-sheet in the last minute to round off a sensational night.
