Hemsworth Miners Welfare hat-trick Jay Davis

Jay Davis’ 11 minute second half hat-trick propelled Hemsworth Miners Welfare out of the relegation zone for the first time since August.

Hemsworth have marooned in the bottom two and appeared doomed for ages but Shane Kelsey’s great escape attempt is well and truly alive.

The very impressive 4-2 win over a Staveley Miners Welfare side who have been almost flawless recently breaths huge confidence going into the last ten games of the season.

After a goal-less first half, Charlie Barks’ bullet header four minutes into the second half sparked the match into life.

Staveley equalised on the hour but that’s where Davis stepped in to steal the show.

Three well-hit goals – including a trademark thunderbolt – in a short space of time turned the games on its head and set Hemsworth sailing to victory.

A Staveley goal ten minutes from time added a bit of drama but Hemsworth saw it out and they move onto the trip to Grimsby Borough.

George Doyle scored twice for Emley

George Doyle scored twice against his former club Albion Sports as Emley won 2-0 in the six-pointer.

With Hemsworth winning, Albion are now in the bottom two.

A tap-in on the stroke of half-time and a shot from ‘miles out’ set Emley’s crucial win up.

Thackley surrendered a three-goal lead at AFC Mansfield but two late goals secured a dramatic 5-3 win.

Former Knaresborough Town midfielder Tom Rose recently joined Thackley

Tom Rose and Owen Murphy netted in the final five minutes to hand Pat McGuire’s side victory.

Frankie Sinfield, Lewis Waddington and Ben Grech-Brooksbank had put Thackley in a commanding position in the first half.

Athersley Rec lost 4-1 to Barton Town.

Jack Briscoe scored a late consolation.
