A trio of ex-NCEL players have joined Dearne & District in the past couple of weeks.

Ex-Emley player Matty Thornton is the latest player having swapped Wombwell Town for Keelan Hall’s side.

Thornton, the brother of Barnsley Non League great Joe, joined Wombwell in the summer from Swinton Athletic.

The other two players have been involved already in the past two weeks.

Jordan Kershaw left Worsbrough Bridge for Dearne.

Former Swallownest striker Alex Lill

Ex-Parkgate striker Alex Lill committed himself permanently as well last week.

Lill has been playing for Swallownest for the past few years.

Dearne made the headlines in the summer after appointing ex-Scarborough Athletic star Jimmy Ghaichem as player/assistant manager.

Striker Nick Guest played for this season before joining Pontefract Collieries.
