Danny Frost and co could return for Wombwell Main’s revenge mission against Dodworth Miners Welfare on Wednesday night (kick off 6pm).

The news will give Dodworth boss Darren Young a sleepless night and perhaps cause him to wake up at 3am in cold sweats.

Iceman Frost and Kieran Hirst, Owen Sykes, Luke Sykes and the league’s top goal-scorer Ryan Wingrove are in contention to play for Terry Simon’s side who dramatically lost 2-1 at Dodworth on the 12th March.

They were all missing from the side who inflicted more pain on Penistone Church Reserves on Saturday.

“I like Dodworth and I like how they go about things and I like the lads who run the side and the lads who play,” Simon told Non League Yorkshire.

“They play hard and fair and go for a drink afterwards and whatever happens on the field is left on the field.

“But the way we lost a few weeks ago to a last minute goal is a sore point.

“Although I have a sneaky feeling that Dodworth could be within a shout (of winning the league), I hope we take those three points off them on Wednesday.

“The lads won’t need any firing up.

“When we lost against them the lads were absolutely gutted and I said to them ‘a couple of weeks we have got them again, play like we did and hopefully things will go for us’.”

Simon also hopes to see a large turnout at Wombwell for the derby clash.

“I hope we can get a good crowd up with it being the first midweek Wednesday night game,” he said.

“Wednesday night games at Wombwell are always good.”
