Wakefield boss wants fans to turn out in force on Friday night

Wakefield AFC manager Gabe Mozzini

Gabe Mozzini hopes Wakefield AFC fans turn out in force to support the Premier Division champions and help raise lots of money for charity on Friday night.

Trophy-hunting Wakefield are taking on Terry Simon’s League Representative side in the Brian Bradley Cup at Wombwell Town (kick off 7pm).

“Unless players are unavailable we’re going to go there with our strongest side,” Mozzini told Non League Yorkshire.

“It would be great to win another trophy.

“Of course we’ll be more relaxed than the league games, but we’re going to go with a strong side to try and win the game and play good football.

“I hope the fans come and pay their £2 to support the charity and I hope they enjoy the game.”

Admission is £2 and all proceeds will go to the league’s men’s mental health partner #ItsOkToTalk which raises money for the Samaritans and Barnsley-based community group Project 14.

Wombwell Main boss Simon has assembled a strong side containing players who have already been a thorn in Wakefield’s side already this season.

Jack Moore (Penistone Church), James Byford (Houghton Main), Louis Wardle (Houghton Main) and Liam Childes (Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915) are four of the seven players who have been involved in games where Wakey have either drawn or lost.
