The phrase ‘getting the band back together’ certainly applies to Dave Ricardo as another familiar face has joined Beverley Town.
Tom Bennett, another throwback from Ricardo’s finest hour – the 2017 title win at Hall Road Rangers – will be playing for his hometown team in their historic first season at Step 6.
Bennett was actually Ricardo’s manager’s player of the season during that unforgettable campaign.
Ricardo said: “Tom has been open about his desire to represent his home town in the first year in the NCEL.
“Supporters will warm to his playing style which is full of energy and commitment.
“He is a big player for the big games and gives another indication of the clubs aspirations.”
Ricardo brought many of his Hall Road heroes back together including assistant Bill Gill, goalkeeping coach Phil Dobson and defender James Piercy.
